S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope VFX

Well, my journey with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has come to an end. Sharing some of my latest work from the DLC with you.
It’s been quite a ride. Thank you, everyone!

Cinematic: Bullet and Force Shield
Had to figure out how to visually show what kind of anomaly would slow down and then destroy the bullet

Cinematic: Train Station Explosion, Fire, Smoke, Sparks and other effects

MegaBrain: Death

MegaBrain Death: Breakedown

Cinematic: Tear Drop and Red Toxin
The simplest effects are the most difficult in simulations, such as tears falling down a cheek

Cinematic: Glass and Liquid Destruction

Cinematic Breakdown: Glass and Liquid Destruction

Anomaly Breakdown: Appearance/Idle/Grenade Explosion/Disappearance

Anomaly: Water Bubble
You know the anomaly on SIRCAA, after destruction it transformed into another form

Destruction: Liquid
The idea came after watching the Warhammer 40,000 | Secret Level episode, and I wanted to implement a similar emissive slurry destructor.

Chimera: Appearance / Idle / Death / Impact

Cinematic: Chimera Death

Force Field: Grenade and Bolt
Based on the effect in the cutscene, recreated the gameplay part of this effect

Force Field: Weapons

Anomaly: Wires
Decided to turn the ribbon bug in the Niagara System into an anomaly

Anomaly: Wires

Environment: SIRCAA Destruction

Artifact: Water Drop

Environment: Fish
My favorite thing to do was come up with new environment visual effects to bring the world to life and show the anomaly of the zone

Environment Weather: Thundery

Environment Weather: Light Rain

Cinematic: Bubbles

Environment: Water Electric
How could I forget the frogs and not do something about them? =)

Environment: MegaBrain

Mutant: Blind Dog

Idea for Kopp–Etchells Effect
Always try to convey the real cool effects that exist in reality

Bonus: Ideas and prototyping

Bonus: What can you create in SDK =)

Bonus
Ideas for visual anomalies and Prototyping zero gravity with particles area in Limansk

Thanks For Watching!
